Obesity Equals Mal-nutrition

Avatar

What most peole don't realise is that when a person is classed as obese this is actually a side effect of mal-nutrition.'Strange' you may think,

'but if somebody is overweight the first thing they should do is cut calories, (infact alot of people do cut calories ,but too many causing a starvation response within the body, slowing metabolism and forcing the body to hold onto its most valuable source of energy- fat)

Getting back to the point, the obese body is crying out for micronutrients, so it is essencial to stress the importance of the best quality food that your client can afford , this includes organic fruit and veg , free range ,grass fed meat and dairy, and organic free range eggs. Try to eliminate anything that comes in a package, is covered in pesticides or has had chemicals added to it, ie;MSG, sweeteners, or anything that you don't know what it is or where it has come from.

Micronutrients are contained within macronutrients so these should be eatened in balance, therefore to re address the balance of the average western diet, carbohydrates need to be reduced and high quality protein and it's accompanying saturated fat(Yes, saturated fat) should be increased. If you study research ,you will find that there is infact no correlation between saturated fat and ill health, but actually the opposite is true, high BMI ,high body fat % ,as well as ill health have increased along side the perscription of low fat diets. Provided the quality of protein and fat is high there will be an abundance of micronutrients, and your client will feel satisfied after each meal. As the body adjusts to being nourished with natural foods and forgets about refined products with their chemical cocktails, weight loss will occur.

Afterall ,that well used phrase 'you are what you eat', is absolutely true, todays food will become tomorrows body.
