There are as many diets as there are clients you might find locally, nationally, or internationally.  So this should start to give you a picture of how complex the human dieting has become.  Most clients today are looking for achievable results, whether it is weight gain, weight loss or better health, fitness or sports performance.

Diet minus exercise is equal to weight gain so it is important to consider diet, nutrition and exercise when working with clients to achieve results.   The body is like a car and to work effectively it needs good fuel (nutrients), water, oil (essential fatty acids), servicing, mot (health checks) and repairs (broken limbs etc.).    Putting the wrong fuel in the car can have disastrous results, if you ingest too much salt, sugar, alcohol, bad carbohydrates or toxins the body will eventually stop working.   The body is a finely tuned biological engine which needs the right amount and type of, nutrients, minerals, water, enzymes, oxygen and exercise to run effectively.

When working with clients it is important to ensure they are eating the right macro elements to create energy, for example scientific studies have shown that foods low in glyceamic index (GI) slowly digested carbohydrates are crucial to healthy and sustained weight loss and eating for energy.   Once the macro elements have been considered and new eating patterns are forming. It is important to consider the micro and trace elements that are unfortunately missing from our highly processed and refined foods today.

Due to modern day farming many crops are now grown in soils lacking in minerals, crops are sprayed with fertilisers and pesticides. In 1992 the Earth Summit Report revealed significant amounts of minerals have been lost through over-farming.  In Europe it is believed 72% of minerals have been lost over the last century.

Supplementation is not about replacing healthy eating it is to help fill dietary gaps and aiding digestion. These gaps are created by modern day farming practices, premature harvesting of foods and storage practices.  Not only modern day farming, but modern day eating is significantly different to our ancestors and dietary habits no longer meet the needs of our bodies today, for example most people typically eat nutritionally poor in the morning and rich in the evening.

In addition, over cooking destroys valuable enzymes, over consumption of refined and processed foods, such as white rice, white pasta or most cereals can create further dietary gaps.  Nutritional depletion  can be caused through many types of medication or it can destroy the ‘friendly flora”, for example, statins used to lower cholesterol destroy co-enzymeQ10 , anti-inflammatory drugs can lead to depletion of calcium, vitamin D, or iron, and antibiotics can destroy the friendly bacterium from your immune system.

To meet client’s nutritional needs today of filling dietary gaps quality supplementation is paramount to help them achieve their goals.  Not all supplements, however, are equal. High quality organic wild-crafted non-genetically modified supplementation produced to the highest standards is the key to nutritional success in reaching helping clients meet their weight-loss, weight-gain, healthier or sports performance goals, and enable clients to gain sustainable results they are looking for.  Tailoring this approach to the individual by careful lifestyle analysis helps me to target the exact micro supplementation needs of the client transforming a nutritionally poor diet, dietary habits and encourage healthy habits and ensure a balanced sustainable nutritionally rich future for longevity, vitality and energy.
