Fad Diets Don't Work!
| Diets |

Diets that promise quick, effortless Weight Loss are best avoided
You may lose weight initially, but they're often difficult to follow in the long term. Often they're also very restrictive and may not provide all the nutrients your body needs.Fad diets are those that:
- Promise a quick, easy fix with rapid weight loss.
- Suggest that certain foods 'burn fat'.
- Promote the eating of just one of two food groups.
- Have lots of rules about how to eat.
- Sound too good to be true.
In the journey of losing weight with long term results, it's better for you to make small lifestyle changes in the way you eat.
For Example:
Eat a good balanced Breakfast every morning.
You need to eat breakfast within an hour of waking up & ensure there is Protein in there also, not just cereal or toast (carbs). This will give your body the essentials to start you off in the right way.
Eat Little and often during the day.
This helps to keep your blood sugar levels balance & keeps your metabolism working more during the day, helping you to burn more calories & start tapping into those fat stores.
Don't 'Feast' in the evening meal!
Ever heard the Saying ' Eat like a king at breakfast and like a pooper at dinner'
In simple this means don't 'save' you biggest meal for the end of the day.
We're more active during the day, so if we're just keeping ourselves going by having a quick coffee and a sandwich at lunch time, and then coming home to have a meal that we need our special trousers for!
We're not going to get the results that we're looking for.
If this sounds familiar:
Wake up, grab some toast or cereal with a coffee out the door.
Grab a sandwich with a packet of crisp and a chocolate bar (or a piece of fruit) & eat it at your desk,
Wait till you get home and as you walk through the door and announce "I'm starving! What's for dinner" by witch you have a larger sit down meal & then plonk down on the sofa & fall asleep in front of the TV. as you feel so full from your dinner.
Your body has effectively been starved during the day and then when it comes to the evening meal our eyes become to big for our belly and we are more inclined to 'over eat ' as a result.
You're going to hold on to that food for storage - as your body will know during the next day it may not get the food it requires during the course of the day - we as humans are creature of habit & so is your body.
In simple terms ask yourself this question - ' When are you most active? during the hours of 7am - 7pm or 7pm - 7am?'
The answer for most is 7am - 7pm (unless if you're a nightshift worker of course.)
So during the time when we are most active is when we need to fuel the body.
You wouldn't try to drive your car on an empty tank, so why try and 'drive' your body without fuel, would you?
